Create an HTML or Markdown artifact, or publish a file from the dashboard, when you do not want to use the CLI.
Create in the browser
Open Artifacts, select Create, then choose Markdown artifact or HTML artifact. Write in Visual or Source, give the artifact a title, and select Publish. Nothing is published until you select Publish. The new artifact starts as Private and opens at its published URL.
To change it later, open the published page and select Edit. See Edit an artifact in your browser.
Upload a file
Open app.display.dev and select Start. The page opens on a sample artifact you can publish as it is. To use a file of your own instead, select Upload your own file. You can also choose Upload file from Create or open the upload page directly.
Choose an HTML or Markdown file, then set:
- Name – defaults to the filename without its extension.
- Visibility – Private by default, with Company and Public available in the audience picker. Private is available on every plan.
- Share with specific people – email addresses that should be able to open the artifact.
Organization security policy can disable Public or prevent new outside recipients. The form identifies disabled choices. Ask an Owner to change the setting, or choose Company or Private and remove outside recipients. See Organization artifact access.
Drag and drop
Drag the file onto the upload area, or select it with the file picker. Unsupported extensions are rejected before submission. If the file exceeds your plan's upload limit, publishing returns an error after you submit. See Plans and limits for exact limits.
After publishing
The form shows the URL and a View artifact action. Select the artifact from the dashboard list to open its detail page.
From there, you can:
- update the artifact at the same URL;
- change who can open it;
- rename the artifact with the pencil that appears when you point at its name; or
- delete the artifact from its action menu.
Open the artifact itself to review comments or make a separate copy.
If published HTML needs to send requests to an external service, an Organization Owner can add its domain to the domain allowlist.
