Connect Display.dev so Claude can publish reports, presentations, and other work as HTML or Markdown pages. Each published piece of work is an artifact, with its own link.
Claude Desktop includes both Chat and Cowork. This page covers Chat and the shared connector settings. For Cowork cloud execution and staged file publishing, use the Claude Cowork guide.
Connecting the MCP server does not change Cowork's code-execution network
policy. Large staged files require a Claude Team or Enterprise administrator to allow
api.display.dev; personal Claude Pro and Max currently support only small inline
publishing through this remote connector.
Use the Quickstart setup prompt to have your agent guide you, or follow the steps below. Complete any sign-in or approval steps yourself.
Individual account
- Open Customize → Connectors.
- Select +, then Add custom connector.
- Enter
Display.devandhttps://api.display.dev/v1/mcp. - Select Add, then complete the Display.dev sign-in and authorization flow.
Claude Free accounts can add one custom connector. Availability and limits otherwise follow your Claude plan.
Claude Team or Enterprise organization
An Owner or Primary Owner must add Display.dev for the organization first:
- Open Organization settings → Connectors.
- Select Add, hover over Custom, then choose Web.
- Enter
https://api.display.dev/v1/mcpand select Add.
Each member then opens Customize → Connectors, finds the custom Display.dev connector, and selects Connect to complete their own authorization.
Enable it in a conversation
Open the + menu in the lower-left corner of the conversation, select Connectors, and enable Display.dev. Confirm that the connector exposes the Display.dev tools. Do not publish an artifact just to test setup.
Publish your first artifact
Once Display.dev's tools are available, use the first-publish example to create a Private sample and open its link.
Reconnect or remove
If Claude says Couldn't reach MCP server, confirm that the connector URL is https://api.display.dev/v1/mcp and that Display.dev is enabled under + → Connectors for the conversation.
For an authorization failure, including a tool call that returns 401, open Customize → Connectors, disconnect Display.dev, then connect it again. Complete the authorization flow before retrying.
You can also revoke the Display.dev grant from Connected apps. Revocation takes effect immediately. Claude cannot call Display.dev again until you reconnect and authorize a new grant. Claude Team and Enterprise Owners manage organization-level removal under Organization settings → Connectors.
