How Do You Share What Claude Cowork or Claude Design Made?

Display is our product. We checked the Anthropic facts against the Claude Help Center on 16 October 2026.

TL;DR
Share the artifact, not the session. Anthropic says that you cannot share Cowork sessions, but you can share individual artifacts. Claude Design shares a design with view, comment or edit access. It exports to ZIP, PDF, PPTX, Google Slides and standalone HTML. Some readers have no Claude seat, such as colleagues or a client. To give them one URL, ask Claude to publish the result to Display (display.dev), the docs workspace for agents and people, through the connector. The reader signs in. Large Cowork files use staged uploads of up to 50 MB.

Status notesAnthropic says that "Claude Cowork is now just Claude". The change starts on Pro and MaxThe standalone claude.ai/design site closes on 14 December 2026. Claude Design has no version history yet

One path for both: publish through the connector

  1. Add Display from claude.ai/directory/display. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds it first. Read Connect Claude Cowork to Display.
  2. In a Cowork task, select +, then Connectors, and turn Display on.
  3. Ask Claude:
Publish the finished report as a Display page for my company. Ask me to choose the
visibility before you publish. Return the link.
  1. For a Claude Design result, export Standalone HTML. Attach the file to a Claude conversation with Display on, and ask Claude to publish it.
  2. Send the link. Colleagues sign in with their company email. A client gets a Private page that is shared with their email address. The client opens it with a one-time password. Clients can view the page but cannot comment yet. On Pro and Enterprise, an Owner can restrict outside sharing for the whole organization.

Cowork specifics

  • Small output. Claude sends the HTML or Markdown through the connector in the tool call.
  • A large file that already exists in the task. Claude uses staged publishing: create_upload, then publish. The upload expires after 15 minutes. The limit is 10 MB on Free and 50 MB on paid plans.
  • Team and Enterprise. An Owner adds api.display.dev under Organization settings → Capabilities → Code execution. Then start a new task.
  • Pro and Max. You cannot add that domain. Download the file and ask an agent on your computer to publish it, or upload it in the dashboard.
  • Do not install the Display skill or CLI inside Cowork. Use the connector.

Claude Design specifics

  • A standalone HTML export is one file. Display publishes HTML and Markdown files. It does not publish a folder or a ZIP file yet.
  • A PPTX or PDF export is not HTML. Display does not show those files. Share them in the tool that you use for files.
  • A page on Display is static. The hand-off to Claude Code is a different path.

When another path is better

  • Everyone has a Claude seat. Use the Claude share dialog.
  • You need a Canva, PowerPoint or Google Slides file. Use the Claude Design export.
  • You need a passcode or an expiry date. Use Stacktree. Display has neither today.

FAQ

Can I share a Cowork session?+

No. Anthropic says that you cannot share sessions. You can share individual artifacts.

Can I share a Claude Design outside my organization?+

The Design help page does not say. The general artifact rules allow public links and email invitations on some plans, if an Owner allows them. Check the share dialog. To be sure that an outside reader can open the work, export the design and publish the file.

Does Display keep the interactions in a Design prototype?+

A standalone HTML export keeps its HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Open the published page and click through it before you send it.

Does Display work with Cowork on Pro and Max?+

Yes, for small pages. For large files, a Team or Enterprise Owner must allow api.display.dev. On Pro and Max, an agent on your computer can publish the file.

Is there a Display plugin for Claude?+

Use the connector from the Claude directory. It gives Claude the publish, comment and share tools.
