What PageDrop does
PageDrop's fold is two tabs – Paste Code and Upload File – over a textarea, capped at 16 MB, followed by a visibility choice made before you publish. Private means link-only and expires in three days. Public means discoverable by everyone on Explore, expires in fourteen, and can collect likes. Longer retention, 30 to 365 days, is a paid extension from $2.99 after publishing. It also has a public upload API that needs no key, which is a genuinely good fit for agents.
That is a sound design for a scratch pad. It is the wrong shape for anything a colleague might need to open next month.

When PageDrop is the right tool
- A throwaway
- Something you want to look at once and never again. The three-day clock is a feature there – nothing accumulates.
- Something you want found
- Explore is a genuine distribution channel if the page is meant for strangers. display.dev has no equivalent, on purpose.
- A one-time read
- If a page really should be readable exactly once, PageDrop does that out of the box.
Private, public, and the option neither one is
PageDrop's two settings both make sense. The gap is that neither is the one most work needs: readable by specific people, indefinitely.

Who can open it
An open URL, no sign-in, and it is served with noindex so search engines skip it.
Named email addresses only. Each gets a one-time password by email, so access is per person and revocable per person.
On Pro, anyone signing in with a verified company domain gets in through Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra ID.
And it stays. A claimed artifact has no expiry. It counts against your plan's storage instead of a countdown.

Common questions.
Does display.dev expire pages too?
Only unclaimed ones. Publish anonymously and the page stays live for 30 days, which is longer than PageDrop's private window by an order of magnitude. Claim it into an organization and there is no expiry at all.
Can I paste HTML instead of uploading a file?
Yes. The web app takes pasted HTML or Markdown as well as a file, and the CLI reads from stdin.
Is my page discoverable by strangers?
No. There is no Explore gallery, and public artifacts are served with noindex so they do not turn up in search results. The only way in is the URL, or an account you allowed.
What if the page is bigger than 16 MB?
Anonymous publishing accepts up to 50 MB, which covers most embedded-data dashboards and rendered notebooks. Once the page belongs to an organization the per-artifact ceiling follows the plan: 10 MB on Free, 50 MB on Solo and above.
