A link for everything ChatGPT makes

Where people and ChatGPT
work on reports together.

ChatGPT publishes a report, plan or dashboard to a Display link. Colleagues open the link without a ChatGPT seat, comment on it, and read the next version at the same URL.

The demo shows an agent publishing a doc to display.dev – from a chat or a terminal – then a teammate opening its URL, selecting Edit, changing a number on the page and saving v2, a colleague commenting on v2, the agent publishing v3 at the same URL and resolving the comment, and the doc being shared with someone outside the company.

Cursor, Codex, Claude Code – any agent that writes a file. Switch agents anytime – your URLs, versions and comments stay put.

Can ChatGPT publish to a link that colleagues without ChatGPT can open?

Yes. Add Display (display.dev), the docs workspace for agents and people, to ChatGPT as a custom MCP server. An Admin or Owner of the ChatGPT workspace creates the plugin with the endpoint https://api.display.dev/v1/mcp and OAuth. This needs ChatGPT Business or Enterprise/Edu on the web. Members then ask ChatGPT to publish a report, plan or dashboard, and ChatGPT returns a Display link. Colleagues open the link with a one-time password sent to their email address, or on Pro with Google or Microsoft. They do not need a ChatGPT seat. Updates go to the same URL, and ChatGPT can read and resolve the comments that colleagues leave.

Work together across ChatGPT plans

Many developers pay for a personal ChatGPT Pro plan to get higher usage limits. The rest of the company is on ChatGPT Business or Enterprise. OpenAI says that the people you can share a page with depend on your account and workspace.

Display does not check the ChatGPT plan. Everyone signs in to your company's Display organization with their work email.

PersonChatGPT planWhat they do in Display
DeveloperPersonal ProPublishes a report from Codex with the Display skill or the CLI
AnalystCompany BusinessComments on the report and asks ChatGPT to publish the next version at the same URL
Finance leadCompany EnterpriseOpens the link with a work email and edits a number on the page
ClientNoneOpens the link with a one-time password after you invite them. A client can view the report but cannot comment or edit

ChatGPT Pro cannot publish to Display from inside ChatGPT, because OpenAI limits custom MCP servers on Pro to read and fetch actions. Publish from Codex or the Display dashboard instead. On Business and Enterprise, an Admin or Owner adds Display first.

Where ChatGPT output goes when colleagues have no ChatGPT seat

ChatGPT writes the report. Then the work stops at the edge of ChatGPT. A shared chat link shows your prompts as well as the result. A private ChatGPT Site opens only for people who sign in to ChatGPT. A pasted file loses its charts.

Display publishes the report as its own page and checks who opens it.

Before you connect

Display is not in ChatGPT's plugin directory today. Add it as a custom MCP server. Write actions need ChatGPT Business or Enterprise/Edu on the web. On ChatGPT Pro, OpenAI limits custom MCP servers to read and fetch actions, and publishing is a write action.

On Business, only Admins and Owners create and publish a custom plugin. On Enterprise/Edu, Admins can also let selected members create one. We will update this page when Display is available in ChatGPT's plugin directory.

Connect ChatGPT to Display

01
Open Plugins
Open Plugins in ChatGPT, then select + and Add custom MCP server. The older menu path, Settings → Apps → Create, opens the same flow.
02
Set the endpoint
Enter a name, for example Display.dev, and the MCP endpoint https://api.display.dev/v1/mcp.
03
Choose OAuth
Choose OAuth authentication. Complete the Display sign-in and approval.
04
Create the plugin
Read the risk notice, accept it, and select Create as a plugin. Review the write actions that ChatGPT lists.
05
Publish it for the workspace
Only an Admin or Owner can publish the plugin for the whole workspace. Until then, only the person who created it can use it.
06
Reconnect after a 401
If ChatGPT returns a 401 later, disconnect the plugin and connect it again. The ChatGPT setup guide has more detail.

What to ask ChatGPT

Ask in plain words. ChatGPT calls the Display tools and returns the link. ChatGPT can ask you to approve the first write action.

  • "Publish this report to Display as a Company artifact called Q3 churn review."
  • "Publish this plan to Display as Private and share it with maria@example.com."
  • "Update the Q3 churn review on Display with the new revenue table."
  • "List the comments on the Q3 churn review. Fix each one, publish the new version and resolve the threads."

An update goes to the same URL. Colleagues keep the link they already have.

Edit any document in-line.

Fix any line right where you read it.

A Q3 delivery report is open on display.dev, with 89.7% in its On-time rate tile. Someone selects Edit in the header, changes the tile to 94.4% on the page, and selects Save changes. The report reopens as version 4 at the same URL.

Who can open it

Everyone at your company

Colleagues open the link with a one-time password sent to their email address. On Pro they sign in with the Google or Microsoft account they already use. No ChatGPT seat.

Invited people

Named email addresses only. A client or contractor enters a one-time password and creates no account. They can read the page. They cannot comment or edit it yet.

Anyone with the link

A public URL when the output is not sensitive. Nothing to sign in to.

You change the level at any time. The URL stays the same. An Owner can restrict Public artifacts or outside sharing for the whole organization.

Common questions.

Can ChatGPT publish to Display?+

Yes, on ChatGPT Business and Enterprise/Edu on the web. An Admin or Owner adds Display as a custom MCP server with the endpoint https://api.display.dev/v1/mcp and OAuth. Members then ask ChatGPT to publish and update.

Is Display in ChatGPT's plugin directory?+

Not today. Add it as a custom MCP server. We will update this page when the directory listing is available.

Does my workspace need ChatGPT Business or Enterprise?+

To publish from inside ChatGPT, yes. On Pro, OpenAI limits custom MCP servers to read and fetch actions. On Plus or Pro, save the HTML or Markdown file and publish it from the Display dashboard, or ask another agent to publish it.

Do colleagues need a ChatGPT seat to open the link?+

No. They open it with a one-time password sent to their email address. On Pro they can sign in with Google or Microsoft.

Can people on different ChatGPT plans work on the same report?+

Yes. Display does not check the ChatGPT plan. A developer on a personal Pro plan publishes from Codex. Colleagues on your company's Business or Enterprise plan sign in to the same Display organization with their work email. They comment, edit the page, and ask ChatGPT to publish the next version at the same URL.

Can ChatGPT read the comments on a report?+

Yes. The Display tools include list_comments, add_comment and resolve_thread. Members of your organization leave comments. People you invite from outside your company cannot comment yet.

Can I use Display and ChatGPT Sites together?+

Yes. Build an app in Sites. Publish the reports and plans it makes to Display, so readers without ChatGPT can open them.

What can ChatGPT publish?+

HTML and Markdown. Ask ChatGPT for one self-contained HTML file for a dashboard or prototype, or a Markdown file for a plan or a specification. Today Display takes one HTML or Markdown file for each artifact. Folders are planned.

Does Display see my ChatGPT conversations?+

No. The connector receives only the content that ChatGPT sends in a tool call. It does not read your conversation history or memory.

What does it cost?+

Free is €0 with 3 gated artifacts. Solo is €15 a month, Pro is €49 a month and Enterprise starts at €499 a month. Viewers are unlimited on every plan.

Publish your first artifact in 15 seconds.

Free tier. No credit card. One-time password auth on free, Google + Microsoft SSO on Pro (€49/month flat).
